Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gajah Mada (ranked 3481 p4p, 3501 weight class) and Theodore Holmstrom (ranked 413 p4p, 415 weight class). Mada's entrance music is Fighter Mode. A fine choice. Theodore Holmstrom has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gajah Mada's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gajah Mada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Theodore Holmstrom!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmstrom fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mada sprawls well initially but Holmstrom persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mada pushes Holmstrom off and gets back to his feet.
Holmstrom moves into range and connects with a jab.
Holmstrom shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mada's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Holmstrom would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Holmstrom is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Holmstrom really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mada. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mada has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

We've been informed that Holmstrom has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Holmstrom fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mada to the ground. Holmstrom is now in Mada's guard.

A punch lands to the side of Mada 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Holmstrom closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Holmstrom lands in his opponent's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Theodore Holmstrom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Holmstrom must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mada has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Theodore Holmstrom has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mada throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Holmstrom wanted to stand there but Mada had control of the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Holmstrom changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mada looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mada sneaks out the side door and pushes Holmstrom away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Mada gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Holmstrom wants to get up but he can't break Mada's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Mada is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mada has a closed guard, preventing Holmstrom from standing up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Holmstrom wants to stand and escape but instead Mada has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Theodore Holmstrom showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Holmstrom drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Mada right on the button. Mada goes down! Holmstrom follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Holmstrom gets the win via TKO!
