Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darrell Newsome (ranked 1330 p4p, 1421 weight class) and Toke Axelsen (ranked 181 p4p, 189 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

I was talking to Newsome's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Newsome walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Newsome is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Newsome is rocked!
Newsome seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Axelsen shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Newsome is backing up but Axelsen catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Newsome covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Axelsen Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
