The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with an uppercut
and Goncalves counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Goncalves does a little dance to reset his feet.
Goncalves scores with a one two! Jones had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Goncalves tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Goncalves.

Dingleberry Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jones has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Goncalves's jab looks to have found its range, popping Jones under the eye.
Goncalves is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Jones finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Goncalves's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Jones falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
