Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yrjo Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerome Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas has chosen Raise Hell as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yrjo Pierre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerome Thomas! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pierre clinches with his opponent.
Thomas prevents the takedown attempt.
Pierre fails to pull guard.
Pierre just leaning against Thomas, taking a breather. Thomas tries for a takedown. No joy.
Thomas breaks from the clinch.
Pierre darts in and clinches Thomas up against the cage. Thomas has had enough of the clinch but Pierre keeps him there for the moment. Thomas has Pierre pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pierre manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Thomas can't get the takedown.
Yrjo Pierre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerome Thomas. Thomas goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pierre prevents it.
Pierre manages to break the clinch.
Pierre drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Pierre working some strikes from top position. Pierre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thomas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Thomas wants to stand and escape but Pierre is having none of it. Pierre stands up from guard. Let's bang! Thomas looks gassed! Pierre drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thomas is not content to let Pierre control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre decides to stand back up. Pierre steps back and let's Thomas get back to his feet. Thomas has his takedown stuffed and Pierre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Thomas's guard. Pierre works a leg free and moves into half guard. Thomas is looking to control Pierre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Thomas avoid being mounted? Thomas is pressing down on Pierre's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Thomas looking for a sweep. Not yet Thomas, not yet. Pierre prevents Thomas from getting back to his feet. Thomas pushes Pierre off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Pierre fails with the takedown and Thomas counters with a nice double leg into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Thomas works his foot free and advances to mount. Thomas putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pierre tries to hold on but Thomas pushes him away. Pierre is looking to get to half guard. Pierre tries to hold on but Thomas pushes him away. Thomas throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Pierre because Thomas loaded up on that one. Pierre is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pierre tries to lock up and control but Thomas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Thomas throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Pierre is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Pierre slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Pierre avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Thomas.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pierre kicks Thomas off and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre fails to land with a series of punches.
Thomas doesn't succeed with the takedown and Pierre moves into the clinch. Pierre manages to pull guard.
Thomas wants to stand but Pierre is controlling his posture from full guard. Pierre is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Thomas gets to his feet. Pierre looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Thomas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pierre. Thomas takes the fight into the clinch. Thomas pulls guard successfully.
Thomas looking for a sweep. Not yet Thomas, not yet. Thomas is trying to keep Pierre in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pierre decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Thomas, up you get! Pierre throws a lazy uppercut
and Thomas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pierre won't be happy with that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Pierre prevents Thomas from improving position. Pierre manages to work his way to half guard, despite Thomas's best efforts. Pierre regains full guard. Nicely done. Thomas wants to control from the top but Pierre keeps moving. Thomas tries to free his leg and advance position but Pierre is retaining full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thomas lands a couple of elbows. Pierre controls Thomas momentarily but Thomas frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Yrjo Pierre will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Thomas feints and as Pierre raises his hands in defense, Thomas changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Pierre controls Thomas momentarily but Thomas frees himself. Jerome Thomas has got the better of the ground game so far. Pierre pushes Thomas off and scrambles back to his feet.
Pierre looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Thomas has hold of Pierre's hands but Pierre slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Pierre scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Pierre controlling the action here. Pierre wants to pass to mount but Thomas is defending the position. Thomas is breathing heavily. Pierre slips a nice elbow through Thomas's hands, connecting with Thomas's forehead. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pierre in particular looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre works his foot free and advances to mount. Pierre avoids the attempt from Thomas to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierre scoring with strikes but Thomas is staying in there. Thomas is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pierre putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Pierre lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Thomas tries to land a strike from the bottom but Pierre has taken his back! He's got the choke... big trouble for Thomas here! Thomas is tapping! Great work there by Pierre!
