Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xue Fang (ranked 5582 p4p, 3684 weight class) and Aaron Yonic (ranked 176 p4p, 95 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fang throws a body shot but no joy.

Fang closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Yonic quickly recovers to half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fang in particular looking to stall.

Fang seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Yonic for as long as he can get away with.
Yonic is not content to let Fang control the position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Xue Fang.
I think Fang has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
