The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yonic misses with a head kick.
Zhenya is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Yonic.
A looping hook to the body misses from Yonic. Zhenya does a little dance to reset his feet.
Yonic misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A swing and a miss from Zhenya.
Yonic takes a swing at Zhenya's ribcage but misses.

Zhenya scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zhenya has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yonic is trying to escape the mount.

Yonic is working hard here to advance position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zhenya has control of Yonic's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Yonic regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Yonic is trying to escape the mount.
Zhenya has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Fight Factory. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Yonic is desperately trying to improve his position but Zhenya has a good base and remains in mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zhenya tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
It looks like Zhenya might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Tao Zhenya comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
