Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Motts (ranked 1001 p4p, 1436 weight class) and Roman Ship (ranked 22 p4p, 49 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregory Motts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Roman Ship! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Motts gets caught flat footed, as Ship shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Ship drops back, looking for a kneebar! Motts looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Motts looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Motts! Ship is looking to regain half guard here but Motts keeps moving and retains side control. Ship is still trying to improve position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Motts tries to move to mount but Ship blocks the move with his legs.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ship's coach down at Deathsquad was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ship's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Good shot there by Motts.
It looks like Roman Ship has been cut. Motts swings for the body but Ship moves out of range.

Ship bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Motts throws a jab when Ship was well out of range. Roman Ship seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A little feinted left hand from Motts on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Ship shoots in looking for a takedown. Motts tries to sprawl out of it but Ship keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Motts manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ship fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Motts avoids it really well and circles away. Gregory Motts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Ship. Motts throws a looping overhand right but Ship ducks down to avoid it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ship displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Motts throws out the jab. Ship with the counter takedown but Motts avoids it easily. Ship wants to clinch up but Motts keeps it at a distance. Ship swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Motts. Ship misses with a takedown and Ship takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Motts looks to throw the jab but Ship is out of range. Nice uppercut there from Motts. Motts misses with a looping left. Ship feints the counter takedown. Motts throws out a loose jab but Ship uses good head movement to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Motts throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ship sees it coming and avoids it easily. Ship scores with a takedown into Motts's guard. Ship wants to pass the guard but Motts is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ship drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Motts manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ship has Motts in his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ship being controlled here, momentarily. Ship looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Motts has picked Ship up and slammed him! Ship can't keep hold of the triangle and Motts manages to pass to side control! Ship is trying to improve his position. Ship being controlled for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ship is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Motts's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Ship looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Motts pushes past his half guard into mount! Motts can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ship is looking to escape. Ship is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ship regains half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ship has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Motts escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Motts! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ship gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Ship scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Motts throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Motts displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ship throws out the jab. Ship throws a body punch but Motts moves out of range. Ship lands with a hook. Motts tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Ship throws a big shot that misses. Ship rushes Motts and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Motts scores with a hook to the body. Motts digs a right hand underneath Ship's ribcage. Ship let out a lung full of air as it connected. Ship takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Motts gets through Ship's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
That has opened up Roman Ship's cut even more. Motts lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ship or not. A nice left hand lands by Motts.
Motts lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Motts lands with a left to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Motts lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Motts lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Nice body punch from Motts. Motts cracks Ship with a nice body shot. Motts works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
