The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bayat moves in looking to clinch but Tewodros pushes him off.
Tewodros misses with a hook.
Bayat shoots for a takedown but Tewodros saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bayat walks into a jab.
Bayat tries to clinch there but Tewodros circles away.
A shot to the body from Bayat misses
and Tewodros counters with a left to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bayat doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tewodros cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tewodros scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Tewodros throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And Bayat tries to counter it with a takedown but Tewodros pushes his down on his head and steps out.

enabling Tewodros to counter with a crisp jab.

Tewodros throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bayat sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bayat shoots in for a takedown but Tewodros shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Tewodros uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bayat has time to react.

Tewodros lands a really nice looking cross but Bayat seems unphased.
Tewodros sizes up Bayat with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bayat shoots for a double leg takedown but Tewodros sprawls well. He's pushed Bayat's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bayat clinches.
Tewodros wants to get back to striking at distance but Bayat won't allow it.

Tewodros tries to circle away but Bayat has him pinned against the cage.
Tewodros wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bayat pulls guard successfully.
Bayat is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bayat has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tewodros can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

and Tewodros counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bayat thinking.
Tewodros is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Kemal Bayat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bayat misses with a left hand
and Tewodros scores with a counter punch that sends Bayat to the canvas! Tewodros smells blood - he's punishing Bayat with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Bayat has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
