The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Ben Watson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaissi fails with an attempt to clinch.
It looked like Vurris was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Slaissi.
Slaissi takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Vurris tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Slaissi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vurris connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Slaissi tries to clinch but Vurris moves out of range.
Vurris fails with the takedown
enabling Slaissi to counter with a crisp jab.

Slaissi rushes Vurris and presses him up against the cage.
Slaissi scores with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slaissi tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Vurris's elbow.
Vurris fails to pull guard.
Vurris tries to break free but Slaissi pushes him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slaissi throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Vurriss head.

Vurris drops down looking for an ankle pick but Slaissi pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vern Vurris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown attempt by Vurris or perhaps it was just good defense by Slaissi, which made it look bad.
Vurris has his takedown stuffed
and Slaissi counters with a nice low kick that buckles Vurris's knee momentarily.
Vurris tries to close the distance and clinch but Slaissi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Slaissi rushes Vurris and presses him up against the cage.

Slaissi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vern Vurris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vurris fails with the takedown
and Slaissi counters with a stiff right hand.

Vurris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Vurris misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Slaissi to counter with a crisp jab.
Vurris shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Slaissi as he avoids it easily.

Slaissi has Vurris up against the cage in a clinch.
Slaissi lands a shoulder strike.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Slaissi misses with a hook from the clinch.
Slaissi is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Vurris is defending well for now.
Vurris avoiding damage as Slaissi throws knees to the body.

Vurris breaks the clinch.

Slaissi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slaissi wants it to stay on the feet.
Vurris closes the distance and clinches up with Slaissi, looking for a takedown. Vurris pushes Slaissi against the cage but Slaissi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Vurris shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Slaissi counters with a nice right hand that sends Vurris toppling to the canvas! Vurris scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Slaissi finish him?!

It looks like Vern Vurris has been cut.
Slaissi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Vurris is breathing heavily.
Slaissi misses with a hook.
Vurris misses with a lunging right hand
and Slaissi counters with a massive head kick! KABOOM! Vurris is out cold! A devastating KO!
