Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wade Willson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Willson comes to the cage accompanied by Sugar Hill Gang - Apache. Stevens has chosen I Look Good as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wade Willson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chase Stevens! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Willson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A head kick misses from Stevens. Stevens shoots for a double leg takedown but Willson sprawls well. He's pushed Stevens's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Willson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Willson throwing shots but missing, from side control. Willson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stevens, who protects the arm well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stevens prevents Willson from moving into mount. Willson controlling from side mount. Willson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Check out the look on Willson's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens manages to work his way to half guard, despite Willson's best efforts. Willson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Willson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Willson is trying to control. Stevens wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Willson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Stevens keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Stevens tries to kick Willson off but Willson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Willson thows a huge punch but Stevens dodges it nicely.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Stevens tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Stevens with a lazy takedown attempt and Willson counters with a takedown into side control. Willson moves into full mount! Willson trying to control but Stevens is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stevens tries to buck Willson off but he can't manage it. Stevens working to try and regain half guard.
Willson looking to ground and pound but Stevens is blocking nicely. Willson trying to control but Stevens is having none of it. Stevens's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willson landing punches. Stevens keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Stevens wants to control but Willson is having none of it. Willson scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Willson is working for a guillotine from mount but Stevens frees his head quite easily.
Willson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Willson tries to control but Stevens wriggling away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Willson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Stevens has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Stevens! Willson looking for a sweep. Not yet Willson, not yet. Stevens wants to control from the top but Willson keeps moving. Stevens won't allow Willson to sweep him here. Willson keeping moving, preventing Stevens from controlling successfully. Stevens would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Willson wants to sweep here but Stevens controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Willson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Stevens to score with a decent uppercut. Stevens fails with the takedown and Willson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stevens won't be happy with that. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Willson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stevens knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Willson scores with punches from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens manages to get back to half guard. Willson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stevens's head. Willson is trying to control. Stevens wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Willson is working for a submission of some sort.
Willson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Stevens is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Willson is looking to advance position but Stevens won't allow it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stevens scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Stevens shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Willson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Willson postures up in Stevens's guard and throws a big left but Stevens blocks it. Willson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stevens is pulling down on Willson's head to control his posture. Willson wants to pass the guard but Stevens is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevens is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Willson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Stevens looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Willson throwing strikes from guard but Stevens blocks nicely.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Stevens shoots and misses so Willson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Wade Willson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chase Stevens. Willson pushing down on Stevens's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Willson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Stevens is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Willson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Willson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Willson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stevens gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stevens misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stevens closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stevens lands in his opponent's guard. Willson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Willson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Stevens is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Willson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Stevens's back instead. Willson controlling from the back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Willson connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Stevens to escape the position.
Willson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Stevens knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Stevens for a finish. Stevens trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Stevens manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Willson is now in side control. Wade Willson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Willson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Willson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Stevens can't do much from the bottom here. Willson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
And that's the end of the fight! Wade Willson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Willson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
