Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Korben Dallas (ranked 313 p4p, 312 weight class) and Ben Reed (ranked 49 p4p, 48 weight class). Ben Reed has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Korben Dallas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Reed!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Reed 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Reed throws a sloppy head kick and Dallas moves out of range easily.
A lazy left from Reed finds it's target.
Dallas misses with a hook.
Dallas throws a lazy right hand but Reed sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dallas moves out of range as Reed throws a body kick.
Dallas swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Dallas scores with a jab. Reed acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Dallas throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Dallas or perhaps it was just good defense by Reed, which made it look bad.
Reed misses with a straight left.
Reed looks to throw the jab but Dallas is out of range.
A jab lands there for Dallas.
Dallas missing with a left hand there. Reed was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Some bone on bone action there as Reed checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Reed uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dallas has time to react.
Korben Dallas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ben Reed is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Reed connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Dallas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reed swivels and escapes.

Dallas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Reed to the ground. Dallas is now in Reed's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reed is controlling Dallas's posture.
Reed is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

It looked like Dallas wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

That was a close second round but I would say that Korben Dallas will probably get the nod.
That's time! Dallas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Reed ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Reed follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Reed's corner calls for a 1-2. Reed obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Reed gets caught napping as Dallas dives in and scores a takedown. Reed manages to retain guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dallas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dallas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dallas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Reed lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Dallas misses with a hook to the ribs.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
I was talking to Dallas's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Reed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reed loads up on a big right hand but Dallas slips the punch.
Dallas on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Reed. Reed obviously looking to wear him down.

Reed plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dallas lands with a nice body punch.
Reed misses the shot to the body.
Dallas bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Reed's head backwards.
Reed scores with a jab to the body.
Reed fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dallas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Dallas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reed looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Reed manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Korben Dallas.
I think Dallas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
