PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Greg Grey (ranked 4600 p4p, 4685 weight class) and Agbay Amiga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Agbay Amiga!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amiga manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Grey on his heels. He'll look to pass Grey's guard now, I'm sure.
Grey throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Grey pulls Amiga in to control the position.
Amiga loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Amiga won't allow Grey to sweep him here.

Amiga takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Grey is looking to take a break and control but Amiga is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Grey fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Grey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Amiga keeps working.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Grey lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Amiga down.
Grey scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Amiga to see if he's OK.
Amiga avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Grey.

Amiga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Grey works to advance to full mount. Amiga defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grey connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Grey pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Amiga enables Grey to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Amiga manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Grey is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Amiga is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Amiga has escaped and now he's on top!

Grey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Grey holds on and takes a little breather.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Grey manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Amiga keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Grey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Grey is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Amiga's half guard.
