Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Ragout Mendy (ranked 1047 p4p, 2623 weight class) and Yoji Anjo Anjo (ranked 151 p4p, 329 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Ragout Mendy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yoji Anjo Anjo! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mendy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Anjo! Anjo is looking to regain half guard here but Mendy keeps moving and retains side control. Anjo sneaks back into half guard. Mendy works his way into full mount! Mendy working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendy raining down shots from the mount! Anjo working to try and regain half guard.
Anjo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anjo sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Anjo wants to improve his position but Mendy is controlling well.
Anjo wants to control but Mendy is keeping busy and won't allow it. Anjo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Mendy connects with a couple of short punches. Mendy controls from within his opponent's guard. Mendy lands a couple of digs. Mendy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Anjo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendy's corner is telling him to maintain position. Anjo keeping moving, preventing Mendy from controlling successfully. Mendy stopping the sweep attempt from Anjo. Mendy postures up in Anjo's guard and throws a big left but Anjo blocks it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendy is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Anjo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mendy. Anjo looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Anjo controls Mendy momentarily but Mendy frees himself. Mendy won't allow Anjo to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anjo lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Mendy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anjo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Anjo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Mendy throws a hook but Anjo blocks it. Mendy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Anjo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mendy drops down looking for a counter takedown but Anjo sprawls and moves away. Anjo gets a double leg takedown into Mendy's guard. Anjo is fighting to break Mendy's control of his arms but Mendy is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Anjo looking to pass the guard. Mendy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Anjo is controlling him. Mendy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Anjo is one step ahead there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anjo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Anjo trying to control but Mendy is working from the bottom. Mendy has control of Anjo's left arm, preventing Anjo from doing any damage. Mendy keeping moving, preventing Anjo from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Anjo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Anjo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mendy's waist but Mendy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Anjo off to one side. Anjo forces Mendy back against the cage and clinches. Mendy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Anjo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Mendy tries to break free but Anjo pushes him back against the cage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Pierre Ragout Mendy dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Mendy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mendy drives through with a takedown into Anjo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Mendy wants to control from the top but Anjo keeps moving. Mendy chips away with some ground and pound. Anjo looking for a guillotine here but Mendy defends easily.
Mendy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Anjo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pierre Ragout Mendy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendy postures up.
Anjo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mendy is aware though and is defending well. Mendy landing with the ground and pound. Mendy trying to control the position from guard on top but Anjo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've been hearing that Mendy has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Mendy throwing strikes but missing. Mendy landing some decent shots from guard. Mendy throwing strikes but missing. Mendy is working Anjo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Mendy makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Anjo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Anjo has his foot on Mendy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mendy works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anjo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Anjo controls from within his opponent's guard. Mendy wants to sweep but no luck. Mendy wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Anjo is now in half guard. Mendy looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Mendy tries to roll over but Anjo keeps him under control. Mendy is looking to escape. Anjo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendy is refusing to be controlled, as Anjo sits in half guard. Mendy wants to control but Anjo is keeping busy.
Mendy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Anjo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Anjo's back! I really don't envy Anjo right now.
Mendy is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Anjo rolls, trying to escape but Mendy keeps control of the position.
Mendy is not going to allow Anjo to sit and survive in this position. Anjo looking very determined here, making life difficult for Mendy.

Pierre Ragout Mendy dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Sloppy strikes from Mendy. Those never looked like landing. Mendy shoots in and gets a takedown into Anjo's guard. Anjo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mendy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mendy lands a couple of digs. Anjo working for a triangle but Mendy defends it easily.

Anjo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mendy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mendy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Mendy trying to control the position from guard on top but Anjo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mendy throws a body punch but Anjo moves out of range. Pierre Ragout Mendy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mendy scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Anjo fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Anjo misses the target. Anjo fails with the takedown. Anjo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Mendy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mendy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Anjo on his heels. He'll look to pass Anjo's guard now, I'm sure. Anjo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Mendy escapes and throws Anjo's legs to the side, diving into side control! Anjo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mendy landing strikes. Mendy working the head and body with strikes. Anjo is trying to control Mendy's posture but Mendy avoids it. Mendy cracks Anjo with a big right hand but Anjo just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Anjo takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mendy in side control lands a decent elbow. Anjo regains half guard. Yoji Anjo Anjo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pierre Ragout Mendy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mendy keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
And that's the end of the fight! Pierre Ragout Mendy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mendy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
