Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Walay Buut (ranked 5843 p4p, 6490 weight class) and Richard John Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard John Salvacion is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richard John Salvacion! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Salvacion darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Buut wants to control but Salvacion is keeping busy and won't allow it. Salvacion content to control rather than advance. Buut controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salvacion sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut is controlling Salvacion's trapped leg to prevent Salvacion from advancing to side control. Salvacion is controlling the pace.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Let's hope that Salvacion has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. No luck for Salvacion with that takedown attempt. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Buut darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buut is thwarting Salvacion's attempts to control the position. Salvacion regains full guard. Nicely done. Salvacion pulls Buut in close to prevent any damage. Buut stays in close to Salvacion's body and controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Salvacion trying to keep a closed guard but Buut is proving a slippery customer.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buut preventing the sweep.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Richard John Salvacion dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Buut drives through with a takedown into Salvacion's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Salvacion keeping moving, preventing Buut from controlling successfully. Buut is stalling in the full guard. Salvacion working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Buut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salvacion wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Buut drives through with a takedown into guard. Salvacion trying to control the position here. Buut sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buut's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Walay Buut overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Salvacion is trying to keep Buut in close.

Buut throws a strike but Salvacion rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Buut seems keen to control Salvacion's posture. Salvacion wants to control from the top but Buut keeps moving. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Salvacion not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Walay Buut dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Salvacion slaps away a takedown attempt from Buut, before circling back to the center of the mat. Salvacion thinks about the counter body kick. Buut closes the distance and clinches up with Salvacion, looking for a takedown. Buut pushes Salvacion against the cage but Salvacion circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Buut closes this distance looking for a takedown but Salvacion circles away. Salvacion replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Buut blocks it well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Walay Buut. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salvacion shoots in but Buut avoids the takedown attempt easily. Buut quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salvacion drives through with a takedown into Buut's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Salvacion controls from within his opponent's guard. Salvacion trying to control but Buut is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buut is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Salvacion seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Salvacion tries for a takedown but Buut circles away easily and Buut counters with a nice body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Buut stuffs the takedown. Buut closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Buut lands in his opponent's guard. Buut's corner is telling him to maintain position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Salvacion wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Walay Buut. I think Buut has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
