Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wala Sapi (ranked 5848 p4p, 6515 weight class) and Helen Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wala Sapi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helen Salvacion! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Sapi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Salvacion. Sapi jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Salvacion drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sapi is trying to improve his position. A lull in the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salvacion working away. Sapi is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Salvacion off and has taken his back! Sapi controlling the position well here. Salvacion rolled but Sapi kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sapi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Salvacion trying to control the action but Sapi just sinks the hooks in. Sapi is hanging on to Salvacion's back as he tries to escape.
Sapi is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salvacion rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Salvacion blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sapi. Salvacion keeping control of the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Salvacion is looking for a sweep. Sapi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Helen Salvacion will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sapi feints and as Salvacion raises his hands in defense, Sapi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Sapi looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Salvacion is trying to control the position but Sapi postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Salvacion holds on and takes a little breather. Salvacion trying to keep a closed guard but Sapi is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sapi content to stall in guard here. Sapi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Salvacion can do to turn this around?
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Salvacion will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sapi quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Nice takedown defense from Salvacion. No joy for Sapi on that attempt. Salvacion fails with a takedown attempt. Sapi attempts a counter takedown but Salvacion avoids it well and moves away. Sapi shoots in but Salvacion avoids the takedown attempt easily. Salvacion tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Salvacion to the mat! Salvacion manages to get full guard. Salvacion managing to control the position. Sapi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salvacion is controlling Sapi's posture. Sapi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Salvacion managing to control the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Wala Sapi dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Sapi shoots in looking for a takedown. Salvacion tries to sprawl out of it but Sapi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Salvacion manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Salvacion looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salvacion prevents Sapi from improving his position. Salvacion looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Salvacion is looking to stall here but Sapi recovers full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Salvacion looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Sapi working a defensive guard here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salvacion is stalling in the full guard.

Salvacion tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sapi defends well and Salvacion ends up having to push Sapi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Sapi quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Salvacion scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sapi is trying to control Salvacion's posture but Salvacion avoids it. Sapi is looking to reverse the position. Sapi struggling a bit here. Helen Salvacion has got the better of the ground game so far. Salvacion is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sapi will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sapi holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Helen Salvacion comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Salvacion has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
