Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charles Benoit (ranked 5656 p4p, 6113 weight class) and Mantequilla Smith (ranked 590 p4p, 618 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mantequilla Smith!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, David Schapiro and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit throws the kick towards the body but Smith avoids it.

Benoit shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Smith is doing well to control the position and prevent Benoit from advancing to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ground and pound from Benoit .
Benoit sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Smith defending well though.
Smith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Smith manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Benoit manages to get himself to full guard.

Benoit on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Benoit tries to get out of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Benoit is looking to stand up but Smith isn't so interested in that idea.

Smith slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Benoit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Smith trying to control but Benoit is working from the bottom.
Benoit wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Benoit is wriggling around but Smith manages to pass to half guard.
Benoit is trying to stand back up but Smith is controlling him
Benoit definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Smith seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Benoit is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
