Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jihadi John (ranked 3913 p4p, 4158 weight class) and Pultti Pyssy (ranked 416 p4p, 435 weight class). Jihadi John has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pultti Pyssy!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pyssy fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Pyssy looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Pyssy lands the left hand.
We've been told by John's head coaches at Is It Avatary Enough? that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nice straight punches there by Pyssy. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pyssy.
Pyssy looks to land a body kick but John moved away.
John takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Pyssy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
John avoids the head kick by Pyssy.
Pyssy clobbers John with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Pyssy is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! John had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Pultti Pyssy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A nice side step and Pyssy releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Pyssy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but John defends well and Pyssy ends up having to push John into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and John counters with a three punch combo that has Pyssy backing up. Pyssy nods at John to acknowledge the strikes.

Pyssy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

John feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pyssys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
John throws a lazy right hand but Pyssy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pyssy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but John manages to avoid it.
John was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Pyssy rushes John and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

John is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Pyssy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and John takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
John swings for the body but Pyssy moves out of range.
Pyssy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? John is fending him off so far but Pyssy persists. Nope, John circles away and we're back to standing.
Pyssy connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Pyssy tries to land a front kick but John steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

John takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

and Pyssy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Pyssy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed John momentarily.

John is rocked!
Pyssy drops John with a naaaaasty hook - John is in real trouble here! Pyssy dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
