The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heck lands a leg kick that knocks Wifflesworth off balance momentarily.
Heck lands a nice leg kick that just misses Wifflesworth's sensitive parts.
Heck leaves Wifflesworth with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Heck throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A clash of legs there as Wifflesworth blocks the low kick.

Wifflesworth closes the distance and pushes Heck back into the cage.
Wifflesworth is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Wifflesworth's coach down at Cozad MMA Sydney was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wifflesworth's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Heck pushes off an throws an elbow but Wifflesworth leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Heck doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Heck breaks the clinch.

Heck fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wifflesworth looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A jab from Heck finds it's way through Wifflesworth's defenses.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Heck.
Heck scores with a sloppy right hand. Wifflesworth should have avoided that one.
Heck scores with a leg kick.
Heck connects with a crisp jab.

so Wifflesworth counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wifflesworth postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Heck wants to stand and escape but Wifflesworth is having none of it.

Wifflesworth has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Wifflesworth postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Heck covers up, he's hurt! Wifflesworth keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Wifflesworth and the ref steps in to end the fight! Wifflesworth can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
