PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Byson Bain (ranked 4681 p4p, 4682 weight class) and Makutar Dosk (ranked 166 p4p, 129 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Byson Bain!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Makutar Dosk!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bain fails to land with a series of punches.
Dosk looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Bain throws a body punch but Dosk moves out of range.
Dosk darts in looking for a takedown but Bain gets double underhooks and turns Dosk into the cage.
Bain throws a body shot but no joy.
Bain looks to land a body kick but Dosk moved away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bain. Dosk does a little dance to reset his feet.

Dosk manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bain on his heels. He'll look to pass Bain's guard now, I'm sure.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bain manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Bain manages to break the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dosk avoids a punch combination nicely.
A countering left hand to the body from Dosk misses.
Dosk misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Bain dives in and scores a takedown into Dosk's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dosk has Bain pulled in close to control his posture.
Bain trying to control but Dosk is working from the bottom.
Dosk pulls Bain in close to prevent any damage.
Dosk looking to control.
Bain works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bain throwing shots but Dosk is blocking nicely.
Bain takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bain is looking to advance position but Dosk won't allow it.
Bain slips a nice elbow through Dosk's hands, connecting with Dosk's forehead.

Bain stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dosk to get to his feet.

Dosk rushes Bain and presses him up against the cage.
Dosk has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bain is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bain throws out a loose jab but Dosk uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Byson Bain dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Dosk shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bain looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Dosk clinches with his opponent.

Dosk breaks the clinch.

Dosk looking to score a takedown here. Bain is defending well but Dosk drives through and ends up in Bain's guard.
Bain wants to get back to his feet but Dosk passes into half guard.

Dosk missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dosk sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bain defending well though.
Dosk is trying to control the action in half guard but Bain is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Dosk is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Bain tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Bain is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dosk's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dosk's back!

Bain biding his time, looking for the opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dosk can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bain is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Bain controlling well, preventing Dosk from escaping the position.
Dosk is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Bain.
Bain missing with punches from the back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dosk avoids the strikes from Bain.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Byson Bain will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Bain throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Dosk tries to keep at a distance but Bain has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dosk wants to take the fight to the mat but Bain manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Dosk tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Bain breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dosk tries to clinch up.
Dosk shoots in for a double leg but Bain sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Byson Bain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Makutar Dosk.
Bain throws a body kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bain shoots in for a takedown but Dosk shows good takedown defense.
Bain throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dosk swats away the attempt to clinch by Bain.
Dosk tries to counter with a clinch but Bain shakes him off and moves away.

Bain manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dosk on his heels. He'll look to pass Dosk's guard now, I'm sure.
Dosk is looking to stand back up but Bain counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Dosk.
Bain is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dosk can do to turn this around?

Bain trying to control the action but Dosk is working from the bottom.
Dosk pushes Bain off looking to stand but Bain dives back in and keeps control.
Dosk tries to roll over but Bain keeps him under control.
Bain wants to control but Dosk is keeping him busy.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bain in particular looking to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bain seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dosk does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bain works his way into full mount!
Bain looking to control but Dosk is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dosk bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bain keeping moving, preventing Dosk from controlling successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!
Byson Bain showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bain, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Byson Bain made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
