Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Taring Singa (ranked 4551 p4p, 5222 weight class) and Michael Bednar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bednar has chosen Poison as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Taring Singa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Michael Bednar!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Singa closes the distance and pushes Bednar back into the cage.

Bednar breaks the clinch.
Singa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bednar tries to avoid it but Singa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bednar to the ground. Bednar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bednar misses with a series of wild punches.

Bednar drives through with a takedown into guard.
Singa controls Bednar momentarily but Bednar frees himself.
Singa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Singa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Singa has his foot on Bednar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bednar works his way back into a safe position though.

Bednar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bednar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Bednar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Singa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bednar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Singa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bednar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Singa's guard.
