Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenshin Uesugi (ranked 5324 p4p, 4536 weight class) and Silang Avicena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenshin Uesugi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Silang Avicena! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! That kick from Uesugi tenderised Avicena's leg. Avicena is trying to keep his angry face on. Avicena fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Uesugi, pushing him back against the cage. Uesugi fails to pull guard.
Uesugi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Avicena smiles and moves away.
Avicena gets a takedown into half guard. Avicena performing his best blanket impression for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Uesugi is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Avicena scores with a couple of nice shots. Uesugi's coaches at Takeda Clan Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Avicena tries to stand but his arm is trapped. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avicena escapes and gets back to his feet. Avicena misses with a combination
and Uesugi counters with a flying knee. Nice. Uesugi misses with a head kick.
Silang Avicena seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Avicena shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Uesugi napping and manages to drive through into side control! Avicena tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Uesugi is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Uesugi manages to get back to half guard. Avicena trying to control from Uesugi's half guard. Uesugi has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Uesugi is working an open guard so Avicena takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Avicena closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Avicena trying to control the action but Uesugi is working from the bottom. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Uesugi gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Avicena is trying to control the action in half guard but Uesugi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Uesugi looking for submissions off his back. Uesugi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Avicena pulls his head out easily. It looks like Avicena is going to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Avicena trying to control from half guard but Uesugi is working away. Avicena is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Uesugi is just riding it out for now. Avicena eventually gives up the hold. Uesugi wants to improve his position but Avicena is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Uesugi actively working from the bottom here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Silang Avicena dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Avicena tries to clinch but Uesugi moves out of range. Silang Avicena is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Avicena clinches up against the cage. Uesugi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Avicena walks away with a smile on his face. Uesugi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Avicena pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Uesugi scores with a leg kick.
Avicena clinches up with Uesugi and pushes him back against the cage. Uesugi is trying to pull guard but Avicena has him pressed against the cage. Avicena escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Avicena misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Avicena pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Avicena gets a takedown into half guard. Uesugi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Silang Avicena has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avicena stalling away here and it's allowed Uesugi to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Avicena trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Uesugi manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Avicena looking for a guillotine here but Uesugi defends easily.
Uesugi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Avicena manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Uesugi has Avicena in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Uesugi is looking to cinch up a triangle. Avicena throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Uesugi's body to avoid the submission. Uesugi has instead reached around Avicena's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Uesugi arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
