PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Sir (ranked 21533 p4p, 2154 weight class) and Carson Tully (ranked 684 p4p, 293 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pablo Sir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carson Tully!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sir tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tully was well out of range. Poor timing from Sir.
Tully unleashes a big counter combination but Sir bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Sir cracks Tully with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Tully has Sir up against the cage in a clinch.
Sir throws a head punch that misses.
Sir lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Tully lands an elbow that stopped Sir in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like Pablo Sir has been cut.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Tully.
Sir lands a right hand.
Sir lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Tully or not.
Sir makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Sir softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Tully throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Tully trying to land knees to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tully lands a knee to the head.
Sir tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Tully with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Tully tightens his grip and picks Sir up, before dumping him to the ground. Sir manages to land in guard.
Tully wants to control from the top but Sir keeps moving.

Sir is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tully defends well.
Tully stands and throws Sir's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tully wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sir keeps working.
Sir gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sir is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Still in half guard, Tully seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sir is trying to get back to full guard.
Tully controlling the action here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tully works his foot free and advances to mount.
Sir working to try and regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tully can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sir is looking to escape.
Sir keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Sir is working hard here to advance position.
Tully manages to capitalize on a mistake by Sir to take his back!
Tully slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
It looks like Tully might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Tully working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Sir is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Tully has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Sir taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carson Tully!
Carson Tully seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
