The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gutierrez misses with a hook
and Mfer counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Dontae Gutierrez has been cut.
Gutierrez looks to score with a jab to the body but Mfer is just out of range.
Gutierrez swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Mfer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A shot to the body from Gutierrez misses
and Mfer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Gutierrez misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Mfer counters with a nice right hand that sends Gutierrez toppling to the canvas! Gutierrez scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Mfer finish him?!
That has opened up Dontae Gutierrez's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mfer steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gutierrez.
Mfer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gutierrez.
Mfer was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Gutierrez fails with the takedown
and Mfer counters with a left to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gutierrez lands with a straight right. Mfer didn't see that one coming.
Mfer ducks under a wild hook from Gutierrez.
Gutierrez throws a body punch but Mfer moves out of range.

The cut above Dontae Gutierrez's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
