Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Martins Verdins (ranked 6041 p4p, 3234 weight class) and Brock Harrisburg (ranked 189 p4p, 119 weight class). Brock Harrisburg told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Martins Verdins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Harrisburg! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Verdins is defended easily by Harrisburg. Harrisburg lands a really nice looking cross but Verdins seems unphased.

Verdins on the wrong end of a nice jab. Oh, that's a big right hand from Harrisburg and Verdins goes tumbling to the canvas! Harrisburg follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
It looks like Martins Verdins has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Harrisburg in particular looking to stall. Harrisburg not landing any meaningful shots this time. Harrisburg keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Verdins's coaches at have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Harrisburg is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Harrisburg passes into side control, despite Verdins's attempt to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harrisburg is staying tight to Verdins's torso, preventing him from escaping. Harrisburg lands a few punches from side control. Harrisburg decides to stand up, so the ref orders Verdins to his feet. Harrisburg lands a jab to the nose. Harrisburg scores with a kick to the body.
Verdins is breathing heavily. Harrisburg lands with a good body shot. Harrisburg moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Verdins goes down! Can Harrisburg finish him!? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Harrisburg scoring with some ground and pound. Harrisburg stands up over Verdins, holding on to his feet. Harrisburg throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Verdins is out cold! Harrisburg lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Brock Harrisburg! Brock Harrisburg spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
