Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Caceres (ranked 4377 p4p, 4933 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 470 p4p, 0 weight class). Way Nada will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rickson Caceres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Caceres.
Nada follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Rickson Caceres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Caceres throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Nada tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Caceres is in Nada's guard.
Caceres postures up.
Caceres sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Caceres trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caceres seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Caceres forces his way into half guard.

Caceres looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Caceres trying to mount his opponent but Nada defends it.

Caceres is working for a submission of some sort.
Nada really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caceres. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Caceres is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nada wants to control but Caceres is keeping busy.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Caceres shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nada napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Nada is trying to escape the position but Caceres is controlling the position.
Nada tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Caceres wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Nada is letting Caceres control him for a moment.
Nada stops Caceres from passing to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Caceres controlling the position.

Caceres wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nada, who protects the arm well.

Caceres has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Nada is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Caceres yanks on the arm and Nada is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Caceres.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rickson Caceres!
