Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Hokuto Akira!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Australian RooMan!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
RooMan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Akira moves away.
It looked like Akira wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Akira lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
RooMan scores with a jab to the head.
Sloppy strikes from RooMan. Those never looked like landing.
A quick step to the side and Akira tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Good exchange - RooMan coming out on top.
Akira looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

RooMan jabs Akira to the body, keeping him at a distance.
RooMan throws a hook but Akira blocks it.

RooMan shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Akira eats them both and turns towards RooMan to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Akira avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Akira was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
RooMan tries to bum rush Akira with a series of wild strikes but Akira uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Akira was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

and RooMan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

RooMan throws out a loose jab but Akira uses good head movement to avoid it.
RooMan has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Akira throws a body punch but RooMan moves out of range.

A decent looking cross lands there for Akira.
It looks like Australian RooMan has been cut.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Akira is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by RooMan.

RooMan might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
RooMan works over Akira's head and body with a nice combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Akira gets cracked there but stands up to it.

RooMan lands a nice shot that snaps Akira's head back.
The crowd cheers as Akira lands an impressive looking overhand right. RooMan doesn't seem phased though.
RooMan is rocked!
RooMan is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Akira doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! RooMan crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in RooMan's bad books for that mishap!

A relieved looking Hokuto Akira thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
