Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pete Dunham (ranked 3858 p4p, 2785 weight class) and Ken Vrjalya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dunham comes to the cage accompanied by Im Forever Blowing Bubbles. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pete Dunham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ken Vrjalya!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Topper Green and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunham lands with a thumping leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vrjalya is defended easily by Dunham.
Vrjalya darts in looking for a takedown but Dunham gets double underhooks and turns Vrjalya into the cage.
Dunham listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
The crowd cheers as Dunham lands an impressive looking overhand right. Vrjalya doesn't seem phased though.
Dunham jabbing away but nothing is landing.
We've been told by Dunham's head coaches at Hyperbolic Time Chamber that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Dunham defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vrjalya.
Pete Dunham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Vrjalya.
A decent looking cross lands there for Dunham.

It looks like Ken Vrjalya has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vrjalya has his takedown stuffed
and Dunham counters with a nice low kick that buckles Vrjalya's knee momentarily.
Vrjalya closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dunham circles away.

Pete Dunham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dunham forces Vrjalya back against the cage and clinches.
Vrjalya is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dunham pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Vrjalya has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dunham avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Dunham misses with a short punch on the inside.
Vrjalya is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Dunham is defending well.

Vrjalya's coach down at Irish Collar & Elbow Academy (ICE) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Vrjalya's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dunham creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dunham lands an elbow inside that Vrjalya shrugs off.

Vrjalya's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dunham scores with a sloppy right hand. Vrjalya should have avoided that one.

Dunham scores with a crisp jab that stopped Vrjalya in his tracks.
Vrjalya is still on wobbly legs! Can Dunham finish him?
Dunham lands a leg kick that knocks Vrjalya off balance momentarily.
Dunham throws a nice outside leg kick.
Dunham circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Vrjalya to the canvas! Vrjalya doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Dunham keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pete Dunham!
