The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prokopenko fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Prokopenko gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Prokopenko is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Afanasy is aware though and is defending well.
Afanasy working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Prokopenko's head.
Afanasy tries to free his leg and advance position but Prokopenko is retaining full guard.
Afanasy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Prokopenko works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Afanasy cracks Prokopenko with a solid left hand.
Prokopenko trying to keep a closed guard but Afanasy is proving a slippery customer.
Afanasy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prokopenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Afanasy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Prokopenko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Afanasy wants to control from the top but Prokopenko keeps moving.
Prokopenko trying to keep a closed guard but Afanasy is proving a slippery customer.
Afanasy stands up over Prokopenko, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Afanasy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Prokopenko on the ground.

Afanasy is posturing up here but Prokopenko has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Afanasy tries to roll out but it's too tight and Afanasy has to tap! Slick submission there by Prokopenko!
