Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Erik Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erik Andersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Norris!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andersen shoots in and bounces Norris off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Norris pulls Andersen in close to prevent any damage.
Andersen trying to control but Norris is working from the bottom.

Andersen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Norris looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Norris working a defensive guard but Andersen passes into half guard.
Andersen uses his free foot to push down on Norris's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Norris.
Andersen prevents Norris from getting the reversal.

Andersen is trying to take his opponent's back.
Norris is desperately trying to improve his position but Andersen has a good base and remains in mount.
Norris wants to control but Andersen is having none of it.
Andersen cracks Norris with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Norris has given up his back. Will we see Andersen going for some submissions?

Andersen is looking for the choke from the back position but Norris is controlling his hands well.
Norris trying to control the position but Andersen manages to sink in the hooks.
Norris is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Andersen is staying active.
Norris might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Andersen kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Norris is really stuck here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Norris tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Norris tries to reverse the position but Andersen maintains control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Andersen goes for an armbar but Norris turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Norris.
Norris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Andersen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Norris drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Norris jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Norris postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Andersen is controlling Norris's posture.
Andersen has momentary wrist control but Norris slips an elbow through the middle.
Norris advances to half guard.
Norris tries to pass to full mount but Andersen defends it.
Andersen trying to control from the bottom.
Norris missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Andersen wants to get back to full guard.

Andersen is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Norris pulls his head out easily.

Norris seems to be looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Andersen tries to roll over but Norris keeps him under control.
Norris controlling the action here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Norris lands a nice shot that snaps Andersen's head back.
Andersen tries for a takedown but Norris sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Norris misses the shot to the body.
Norris digs a good body shot into Andersen's ribs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Norris dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Norris throws a head kick that misses.
Andersen shoots in for a takedown but Norris shows good takedown defense.
A jab from Norris finds it's way through Andersen's defenses.
Norris tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Norris cracks Andersen with an uppercut from hell and Andersen crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Norris's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


Andersen is rocked!
Norris passes Andersen's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Norris is trying to control. Andersen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Norris is working for a submission of some sort.
Norris perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Andersen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Norris's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Norris's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Norris manages to reverse the position and now he's in Andersen's guard. Nice work there by Norris.
Norris wants to control from the top but Andersen keeps moving.

Andersen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Norris drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Andersen dives on top into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Norris keeping full guard, as Andersen tries to pass.
Norris keeping moving, preventing Andersen from controlling successfully.
Norris tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Norris is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Norris has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Andersen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Norris looking to control.

Andersen gets to his feet. Norris looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Norris misses with a takedown

and Andersen counters with a takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Norris's face as Andersen controls the position.

Andersen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Andersen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Norris can't do much from the bottom here.
Norris manages to work his way to half guard, despite Andersen's best efforts.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Norris is trying to control but can't.
Norris works his way to full guard. Good work.

Norris is looking for a triangle but Andersen pushes his legs off easily.

Norris is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Norris tries to strike from the bottom.
Norris is controlling Andersen's posture.
Andersen advances to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Norris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Norris looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Andersen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Norris is trying to control Andersen's posture. Andersen takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Norris! Andersen is rotating here... this could be the end... Norris is out! Andersen has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
