CWC 308 - Prelims PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 13 losses; Rutger Petrov ! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 21 wins and 28 losses; Richard Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Morgan leaves Petrov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Morgan with the counter takedown but Petrov avoids it easily.
Petrov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Morgan as he jumps to the side.
Morgan drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Petrov defends it well.

Petrov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Morgan for as long as he can get away with.

Petrov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Morgan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Let's hope that Morgan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
