Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tug Benson (ranked 4597 p4p, 4681 weight class) and Yuval Kavillo (ranked 394 p4p, 396 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tug Benson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yuval Kavillo!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kavillo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Benson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kavillo dives in and grabs Benson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Benson pushes down on Kavillo's head and hops out.
Kavillo fails to land the takedown.
Benson feinted with a counter takedown.
Benson closes the distance and clinches up with Kavillo, looking for a takedown. Benson pushes Kavillo against the cage but Kavillo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kavillo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Good work by Kavillo as he checks the leg kick.
Kavillo misses with the combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kavillo tries to clinch but Benson is having none of it.

It looks like Tug Benson has been cut.

Benson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kavillo's half guard.
Kavillo scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Benson manages to mount him!

Kavillo tries to lock up and control but Benson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Benson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kavillo's face.
Kavillo bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Benson pushes Kavillo off and scrambles back to his feet.

Kavillo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kavillo or perhaps it was just good defense by Benson, which made it look bad.
Benson is looking for a counter combo.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Benson has closed the distance and engaged Kavillo in a clinch.

Benson gets control of Kavillo's arms and successfully pulls guard. Benson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kavillo wants to control from the top but Benson keeps moving.

Benson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Benson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kavillo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Benson's head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Benson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kavillo swivels and escapes.

and Benson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Kavillo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Benson after a bit of a struggle.

Benson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Benson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kavillo's guard.

Kavillo has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Benson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Benson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kavillo up against the cage.

Benson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kavillo shoots in looking for a takedown. Benson tries to sprawl out of it but Kavillo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Benson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Benson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Benson moves nicely into side control.

Kavillo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Benson pulls his head out easily.

Kavillo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Tug Benson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Benson is looking to advance position but Kavillo has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Benson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Benson tries to get out of the position.

Kavillo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Benson sees it coming and defends easily.
Benson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kavillo on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kavillo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Benson, who protects the arm well.
Kavillo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Benson is looking for a sweep.
Benson gets back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kavillo stands up out of the half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yuval Kavillo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Benson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Benson is staying active underneath Kavillo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kavillo is looking to stall here but Benson recovers full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Benson wants to hit a sweep here but Kavillo passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Benson there!
