Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nate Masvidal (ranked 2201 p4p, 2102 weight class) and CJ Tripp (ranked 286 p4p, 272 weight class). CJ Tripp told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 18 - 1, fighting out of London, Nate Masvidal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, CJ Tripp!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Darius Henderson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masvidal fails in his attempt to clinch.
A countering left hand to the body from Tripp misses.
Masvidal moves out of range as Tripp strikes.
Masvidal throws a big counter combination but Tripp scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Masvidal throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A right-left combo lands from Masvidal.
It looks like CJ Tripp has been cut.
Tripp is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Tripp ducks right into an uppercut from Masvidal.
Oooooh!!! Masvidal has knocked Tripp down with a huge combo! Masvidal steps away and waves a wobbly Tripp back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Tripp is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Masvidal takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Tripp is still on wobbly legs! Can Masvidal finish him?
Masvidal closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Tripp! Masvidal dives in looking to finish! Tripp is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nate Masvidal!
