Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Balthazar Baker (ranked 1517 p4p, 632 weight class) and Malik El Shabazz (ranked 223 p4p, 96 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Malik El Shabazz!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker misses with a right hand
and El Shabazz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Baker throws the left hand but El Shabazz avoids the punch easily.
Baker slips a jab from El Shabazz.
Baker throws a hook but El Shabazz avoids it easily.
El Shabazz doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Baker scores with a jab. El Shabazz acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Baker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but El Shabazz was well out of range. Poor timing from Baker.

Baker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has El Shabazz pinned against the cage. El Shabazz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Baker punishes El Shabazz's body with a nice straight punch.
El Shabazz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Baker.
El Shabazz is looking to score with low kicks.

Baker tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

El Shabazz dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Baker. That did some damage!
El Shabazz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
We've been told by Baker's head coaches at ubergym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Baker takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

El Shabazz is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Baker had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
El Shabazz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Baker looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Baker has hold of one of El Shabazz's legs. El Shabazz is fighting the takedown attempt but Baker gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Baker wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
El Shabazz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Malik El Shabazz dominated that round.

Baker bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! El Shabazz comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Baker falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Baker was out before he hit the floor!

A less than humble Malik El Shabazz misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
