And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryant Smith!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Summer Carpenter and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target.
Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cole has time to react.
Smith misses with a body punch
and Cole connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cole checks the leg kick nicely there.
A head kick from Smith lands but Cole takes it in his stride.
Cole lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Smith loads up on a big right hand but Cole slips the punch.
Good standup being displayed there by Smith as he connects with a hook.
Smith lands a really nice looking cross but Cole seems unphased.
Cole avoids the head kick by Smith.
Smith takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith looks to land a combination but Cole avoids it well.
Smith stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Smith throws a poor cross that misses
and Cole counters with a good low kick that Smith was not able to check.
A low kick lands for Smith.

Smith throws a head kick that misses
and Cole counters with a nice body kick.
Smith fails to land with a series of punches.
Smith misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Cole to counter with a crisp jab.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cole moves away.
Smith lands a jab to the nose.
Cole misses with a two punch combination.
Cole walks into a left hand.
Smith misses with an attempted mid kick.
Smith stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A big right from Smith misses.
It looked like Cole wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Smith swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Cole counters with a leg kick.
Smith tries a head kick but it misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cole looks to land a right hand but Smith moved out of range.
Bryant Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cole moves away from the strike by Smith.
Cole is looking to counter punch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith throws a poor cross that misses
and Cole counters with a leg kick.
A low kick from Smith is predictable there
and Cole counters with a series of strikes. Smith will be more careful next time no doubt.
Smith throws a body shot but no joy.
Smith is looking to land body kicks.
Cole looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
A jab lands there for Smith.
Cole tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Cole.
The fighters circle, before Cole throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Smith's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Cole lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). James Cole!
In his post fight interview, James Cole started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
