Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn The General!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dong Labelle!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The General takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Dong Labelle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Labelle feints a jab promting The General to slip. Labelle then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. The General slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
The General fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Labelle lands with an uppercut that bounces The General off the cage and back into range.
Labelle lands a jab-cross combination.
The General walks into a straight right hand from Labelle.
The General is rocked!
Labelle lands a slapping body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The General is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Labelle moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dong Labelle!
After the fight, Dong Labelle was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
