Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Putte Ro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alejandro Saavedra!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ro swings for the body but Saavedra moves out of range.
Saavedra tries to counter with a clinch but Ro shakes him off and moves away.
A nice inside leg kick there by Ro. That's going to slow Saavedra down.
Saavedra takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ro ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Saavedra moves away.
Ro connects with a looping right hand.
Ro throws a jab but it's blocked by Saavedra.
Ro shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Saavedra as he jumps to the side.
Ro definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Saavedra closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Saavedra wants to stand but Ro is controlling his arm.
Ro sneaks back into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saavedra stalling.

Ro is refusing to be controlled, as Saavedra sits in half guard.
Saavedra is looking to advance position but Ro won't allow it.
Saavedra wants to take a breather but Ro is having none of it.
Ro is looking to improve his position.

Ro looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Ro is looking for a sweep. Saavedra is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Saavedra is trying to control. Ro wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ro is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Saavedra pulls his head out easily.
Saavedra trying to mount his opponent but Ro defends it.
Saavedra is looking to take a break and control but Ro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ro trying to hold on to Saavedra's head to control him but Saavedra postures up.
Ro is pressing down on Saavedra's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Ro trying to control the position.
Saavedra is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Saavedra is looking to pass into half guard but Ro pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Ro is in guard.

Ro showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Ro wants to control from the top but Saavedra keeps moving.
Ro passes Saavedra's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Saavedra is looking for a sweep. Ro is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ro passes to side control.
Ro is looking to take a break and control but Saavedra is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Saavedra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ro is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Saavedra looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ro gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Saavedra is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ro lets go of the hold and Saavedra can pop his arm back in it's socket.
