Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Cas (ranked 3287 p4p, 4113 weight class) and Manny Paiwia (ranked 361 p4p, 410 weight class). Rob Cas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rob Cas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manny Paiwia!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paiwia misses with an uppercut
and Cas counters with a straight right hand.
Paiwia throws a hook but Cas blocks it.
Cas throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Paiwia misses with a left hand
and Cas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cas tries a head kick but it misses.
Cas connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Cas ducks under a wild hook from Paiwia.
The fight stays on the outside here - Paiwia looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cas scoring well with a low kick there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paiwia tries to bum rush Cas with a series of wild strikes but Cas uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Cas leaves Paiwia with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Paiwia's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cas connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Paiwia scrambles back to his feet.

Cas looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Cas is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Paiwia tries to clinch there but Cas circles away.
Paiwia is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Cas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Paiwia.
Paiwia takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Cas throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Cas fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Paiwia on the side of the head.

Cas tries a head kick but it misses.
Cas lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Paiwia is looking to work his way around to Cas's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
We've been informed that Paiwia has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Paiwia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Paiwia is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Cas has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Paiwia has hold of Cas's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Cas manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Cas lands a nice looking kick to the body. Paiwia takes a step back to recover.

Rob Cas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Cas counters with a left and a right that stings Paiwia.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Crunch! Cas slams his shin into Paiwia's torso.

and Cas counters with a nice kick to the body.
Cas goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Paiwia throws a jab but it's blocked by Cas.
Cas looks to land a right hand but Paiwia moved out of range.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Cas quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Paiwia has Cas pressed against the cage, preventing Cas from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Paiwia has Cas pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cas manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Paiwia has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cas is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Rob Cas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manny Paiwia.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Paiwia is trying to drag Cas to the mat but Cas just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Paiwia takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Cas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Paiwia can do to turn this around?
Paiwia throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cas sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Cas is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Paiwia dives into side control.

Paiwia postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cas looks a forlorn figure.

Paiwia is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Cas knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Cas for a finish.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Cas covers up after that shot from Paiwia.

Paiwia is persistently looking for the submission but Cas is defending it well.
