Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shaw feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shaw drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Shaw off! Shaw jumps back into Johnson's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shaw drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shaw jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Shaw will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Shaw drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Shaw off! Shaw jumps back into Johnson's guard.

Shaw is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Johnson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Johnson has escaped and now he's on top!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaw has momentary wrist control but Johnson slips an elbow through the middle.

Johnson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Shaw has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.

Shaw tries to buck Johnson off but Johnson is having none of it.

Shaw is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Johnson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Shaw is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Johnson pulls his head out easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Shaw is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Johnson is tapping! Great win for Shaw!
