Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colby Covington (ranked 4568 p4p, 4539 weight class) and Hook Protector (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Colby Covington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hook Protector! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Protector scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Protector connects with a body shot that sends Covington's belly button to the back. Covington could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Protector connects with a leg kick. Covington closes the distance and pushes Protector back into the cage. Protector wants to get back to striking at distance but Covington won't allow it.
Covington wants the takedown. Protector is fighting it off but Covington persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Protector's guard against the cage. Covington makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Covington prevents Protector from getting back to his feet. Protector is looking to stand back up but Covington counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Protector. Protector is trying to stand back up but Covington is controlling him
Covington gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Covington has closed the distance and engaged Protector in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Protector throws a punch but it's blocked by Covington. Covington's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Covington decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Covington is taking a breather. Protector says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Covington lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Covington with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Covington landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Protector wants to get back to his feet. Covington decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Protector throws a body kick that misses and Covington counters with a nice double leg into side control. Protector won't be happy with that. Covington cracks Protector with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Covington immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Protector is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Covington!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Colby Covington!
