Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Dent (ranked 6263 p4p, 6068 weight class) and Shawn Smith (ranked 630 p4p, 0 weight class). Dent comes to the cage accompanied by Dr. Feelgood. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Dent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shawn Smith!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Dent with that takedown attempt.
Dent shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
Smith is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Dent fails with the takedown
and Smith makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Dent. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dent throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Smith counters with a left and a right that stings Dent.
Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Dent shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Smith is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Smith tries to roll over but Dent keeps him under control.

Dent looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Smith won't allow Dent to pass to mount.
Smith is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Smith trying to control from the bottom.
Smith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dent haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Dent is working for a kimura but Smith is defending it quite comfortably.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dent not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Dent is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Smith sees it coming and defends easily.
Smith is trying to stand up here but Dent is controlling him well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Smith scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Smith lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dent at a distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing.
Dent shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Dent or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith, which made it look bad.
Dent misses with a takedown
and Smith counters with a series of strikes. Dent will be more careful next time no doubt.
Dent is breathing heavily.
Smith stuns Dent with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Smith bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dent's head.
Dent takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Smith lands a left and a right that send Dent crashing to the mat, dazed. Smith thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Dent is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith dances in with a quick combination. Dent is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Smith snaps Dent's head back. Dent stumbles backwards against the cage. Smith steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Dent's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Dent just didn't come prepared.
