Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pierce Freeman (ranked 3945 p4p, 3958 weight class) and Greg Pearson (ranked 358 p4p, 480 weight class). Freeman comes to the cage accompanied by Hammerhead Entrance Song. On his way into the cage it seems that Pierce Freeman has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Pierce Freeman seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierce Freeman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Greg Pearson! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pearson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pearson can't find room to land a body shot as Freeman controls the action.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Freeman tries to improve position but can't. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pearson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Freeman can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Freeman thuds a left hand into Pearson's body. Freeman misses the shot to the body. Freeman works Pearson's body with a nice hook. Freeman's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Freeman duly obliges. Freeman lands a jab to Pearson's midsection. Pearson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Freeman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pearson on the side of the head. Pearson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Freeman, who protects the arm well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pearson is looking to take a break and control but Freeman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
