Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sterling Draper (ranked 4277 p4p, 2917 weight class) and Edgar Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Draper comes to the cage accompanied by Asshole. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sterling Draper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edgar Bravo!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Draper connects with a right hand. Bravo shakes it off.
Draper moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Draper cracks Bravo with a good jab.
Draper misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bravo tries to counter with a clinch but Draper shakes him off and moves away.
Draper throws a right and a left that both miss.
Draper misses the jab.
Bravo steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Draper.
Nice uppercut there from Draper.
Bravo leaves Draper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Draper lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Draper.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Bravo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Sterling Draper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Draper looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Draper is nestled in close to Bravo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Draper wants to pass the guard but Bravo is defending well.

Bravo pushes Draper off looking to stand but Draper dives back in and keeps control.

Draper is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bravo defends it well.

Draper is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bravo has managed to free his arm - good work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Draper lands a decent elbow from side control.
Bravo defending against the ground and pound.
Bravo is pushing Draper's head away, looking to escape. Draper manages to hold on to the position though.
Draper postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Bravo pushes Draper away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Draper gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Draper passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Bravo!

That's time! Draper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Draper shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Draper is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bravo can do to turn this around?
Bravo is looking to escape.
Bravo is not content to let Draper control the position.
Draper drops an elbow to the side of Bravo's head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Draper has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bravo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Draper is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bravo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Bravo's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Draper can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bravo is looking to escape.

Draper with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Draper lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Draper lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bravo hang on?
Draper breaks from Bravo's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Draper lands a big shot there that rocks Bravo but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Bravo is in a horrible position here. Draper smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Draper is working for a guillotine from mount but Bravo frees his head quite easily.
Draper trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Draper goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bravo is on top in guard.

Draper has an active guard here but Bravo has managed to pass into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bravo lands a nice short elbow.
Sterling Draper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Draper tries to get to full guard but Bravo has control of the leg.
Bravo is keen to just control but Draper is a slippery customer.
Draper is looking to control Bravo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Draper avoid being mounted?

Bravo kicks off Draper and gets to his feet.
Draper throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bravo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Draper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bravo defends it nicely.

Nice takedown defense from Bravo. No joy for Draper on that attempt.
Bravo tries to counter by closing the distance.

Draper drives through with a takedown into Bravo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Bravo keeping moving, preventing Draper from controlling successfully.
Draper is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Draper throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bravo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Draper is looking to take a break and control but Bravo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Draper moves nicely into side control.
Draper content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Draper has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Bravo is trying to buck Draper off.
Edgar Bravo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bravo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sterling Draper.
Well Draper has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
