Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leonard Nimoy (ranked 1213 p4p, 1990 weight class) and Bryan Gracie (ranked 187 p4p, 281 weight class). Gracie has chosen Limp Bizkit - Rollin' as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonard Nimoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bryan Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie fails to land the takedown.
Gracie throws out a loose jab but Nimoy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nimoy quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Gracie misses with an uppercut.
Nimoy went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gracie has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nimoy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gracie doesn't seem bothered though.
Gracie doesn't manage to clinch there - Nimoy circles away.
Nimoy lands a right hook to the body.
Gracie throws a looping overhand right but Nimoy ducks down to avoid it.
Jab, jab by Nimoy - just one landing.

It looks like Bryan Gracie has been cut.
Nice body punch from Nimoy.
Bryan Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nimoy lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Nimoy connects with a leg kick.
Gracie moves away from the strike by Nimoy.
Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nimoy is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Nimoy circles away and we're back to standing.

It looked like Nimoy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches.
Nimoy throws a punch but it's blocked by Gracie.

Nimoy manages to break the clinch.
We've been told by Nimoy's head coaches at Desert Fitness & Training (14 Elite Coaches) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gracie misses with a takedown
and Nimoy counters with a straight right hand.
Leonard Nimoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryan Gracie.
Gracie misses with an uppercut
letting Nimoy counter with a right hand.
Gracie takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Nimoy slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Gracie has Nimoy up against the cage in a clinch.
Nimoy lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gracie or not.

Gracie ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gracie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nimoy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Nimoy continues to stall.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Nimoy from controlling successfully.
Gracie is looking to sweep but instead, Nimoy has passed into half guard.
Nimoy passes into side control, despite Gracie's attempt to control the position.
Gracie is looking for a sweep.
Nimoy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Nimoy is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gracie is looking for a sweep.
Gracie holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Gracie can't do much from the bottom here.
Nimoy trying to control the position but Gracie is working away.
Gracie is looking to reverse the position.
Gracie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nimoy wants to stand but Gracie is controlling his arm.
Gracie is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Nimoy off and has taken his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nimoy won't enjoy being in this position. Gracie looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Nimoy is tapping - it's over boys! Gracie picks up the submission victory!
