PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lathem McGuire (ranked 940 p4p, 2275 weight class) and Tim Blood (ranked 153 p4p, 317 weight class). Tim Blood told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lathem McGuire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Blood!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blood tries to clinch there but McGuire circles away.
Blood pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Blood tries to clinch up.
McGuire shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Blood checks a low kick from McGuire.
Blood looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
McGuire looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Blood tries to clinch but fails miserably
and McGuire finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Blood looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
McGuire throws a leg kick which misses Blood's front leg but catches the back leg as Blood tries to avoid it.
Blood is looking to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blood pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Blood throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McGuire jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Blood ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Blood moves out of range as McGuire strikes.
A jab lands there for McGuire.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blood fails with an attempt to clinch.
McGuire checks a low kick from Blood.
It looked like McGuire was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Blood.
McGuire connects with a single shot there.
McGuire drops Blood with a big left hand! Blood is injured, injured bad! McGuire jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
