Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristoffer Rangel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steele comes to the cage accompanied by The Terminator Theme. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jason Steele! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cristoffer Rangel! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rangel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rangel looks to throw the jab but Steele is out of range. Rangel tries to land a leg kick but Steele saw it coming and moves away.
Rangel throws a sloppy head kick and Steele moves out of range easily. A swing and a miss from Rangel. Steele takes a kick to the side of the head. Rangel has a takedown stuffed. Steele shoots in and bounces Rangel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Steele with a flurry of punches that miss. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rangel can do anything to dispel that myth. Steele is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Steele accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steele drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Steele jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Steele trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rangel wants to stand but Steele is controlling the position. Steele with a flurry of punches that miss. Steele drops back looking for a leg! Rangel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rangel manages to kick Steele off! Steele jumps back into Rangel's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Steele shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rangel's guard. Steele wants to control from the top but Rangel keeps moving. Steele won't allow Rangel to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steele drops back looking for a leg! Rangel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rangel manages to kick Steele off! Steele jumps back into Rangel's guard. Steele drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Steele jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Rangel wants to stand up but Steele is controlling him. Steele advances to half guard. Rangel pushes Steele off looking to stand but Steele dives back in and keeps control.
Steele trying to control the action but Rangel is working from the bottom. Steele looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Steele has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele seems to be looking for submissions.
Steele throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rangel is defending against the submission attempts here by Steele.
Rangel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steele. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Steele is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Steele is breathing heavily.

Steele throwing shots but Rangel is blocking nicely. Rangel is not content to let Steele control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rangel tries to kick Steele off but Steele keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Rangel is defending against the submission attempts here by Steele.

Steele seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Rangel is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
