Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Morrison (ranked 2344 p4p, 941 weight class) and Pablo Noriega (ranked 249 p4p, 105 weight class). Noriega has chosen MS-13 Mara Salvatrucha as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Morrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 19 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pablo Noriega!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Topper Green and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noriega scores with a nice right hand.
Noriega with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Morrison to score with a decent uppercut.
Noriega walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Morrison checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Noriega takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The fighters circling - Morrison throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Noriega throws out a counter right but Morrison avoids it with no problem.

Noriega lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Morrison takes a swing at Noriega's ribcage but misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Noriega. Morrison does a little dance to reset his feet.

Noriega is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Noriega throws a solid leg kick but Morrison takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Noriega.
Noriega will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

It looked like Morrison wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Morrison lands with a straight right. Noriega didn't see that one coming.
Noriega throws a body shot but no joy.
Noriega throws a low kick but Morrison avoids it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Morrison has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Noriega has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Morrison lands a big head kick that sends Noriega tumbling to the mat! Morrison takes a step backwards and waves Noriega back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Our winner, Richard Morrison, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
