Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adams Menday (ranked 2494 p4p, 2509 weight class) and Freddy Barnes (ranked 317 p4p, 320 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adams Menday! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Freddy Barnes! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Barnes misses its intended target. Menday feinted with a counter takedown. Barnes shoots in and gets a takedown into Menday's guard. Menday is trying to keep Barnes in close.
Menday looking for a sweep. Not yet Menday, not yet. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Menday holds on and takes a little breather. Barnes wants to control from the top but Menday keeps moving. Menday has his hands on Barnes's head, controlling the position. Menday is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Menday is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Menday tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Menday working for a triangle but Barnes defends it easily.
Barnes trying to control the position from guard on top but Menday is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Menday is pulling down on Barnes's head to control his posture. Menday has his foot on Barnes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Barnes works his way back into a safe position though. Menday pulls Barnes in close to prevent any damage. Menday utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Barnes trying to control but Menday is working from the bottom. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Menday holds on and takes a little breather. Menday wants to sweep but no luck. Barnes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Barnes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Menday works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Menday wants to sweep here but Barnes controlling him for the moment. Menday seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Menday is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Barnes rolls with it to try and escape but Menday cranks on the arm and Barnes is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Adams Menday! After winning the bout, Adams Menday thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
