Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Nowka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aescalus Metatrius!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metatrius closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Metatrius connects with a nasty looking knee right to Nowka's face.
Nowka wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Nowka fails to land.
Nowka lands a hook to the side of the head.
Nowka swings wildly with an uppercut but Metatrius uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nowka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nowka drops Metatrius with a beautiful combination! Metatrius stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Nowka is looking for the KO!
Metatrius is rocked!
It looks like Aescalus Metatrius has been cut.
Nowka darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Metatrius's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Nowka before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Matt Nowka!
