Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Sthingen (ranked 4587 p4p, 4514 weight class) and Imran Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gabriel Sthingen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Imran Khan!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sthingen misses with a takedown attempt
and Khan counters with a left to the body.
Gabriel Sthingen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sthingen goes for a double leg but Khan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Khan continues to drive forward.

Sthingen manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Khan wants to get up but he can't break Sthingen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Khan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sthingen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sthingen lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Khan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sthingen controls the pace.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Sthingen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Khan's waist but Khan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sthingen off to one side.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sthingen lands a head kick. Khan smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Khan now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

As Khan tries to get set, Sthingen tries to push him back and clinch up but Khan manages to avoid the attempt.
Khan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sthingen.

It looks like Gabriel Sthingen has been cut.
Khan gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Khan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sthingen blocks it with crossed arms.

Sthingen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Khan smiles and moves away.
Khan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Khan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Khan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sthingen.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Sthingen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Khan throws a nice head kick!
Sthingen tests Khan's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Khan slips a straight right by Sthingen.

Sthingen drives through and clinches with Khan against the cage.

Sthingen jumps into guard, dragging Khan to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sthingen scrambles and gets back to his feet.

and Khan counters with a head kick. That will keep Sthingen thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Sthingen throws a combination that misses
and Khan counters with a good low kick that Sthingen was not able to check.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sthingen shoots in but no luck this time.

Sthingen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sthingen rushes Khan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Khan lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Sthingen is trying to maintain a safe position but Khan gets an underhook and turns Sthingen into the cage.
Oh Sthingen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sthingen takes an elbow to the forehead.
Khan gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Khan tries to stall but Sthingen uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Khan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Sthingen is trying to pull guard but Khan turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Khan connects with a nasty looking knee right to Sthingen's face.
Sthingen avoids a wild elbow strike from Khan.

Sthingen fails with the takedown.
Khan moves in looking to clinch but Sthingen pushes him off.

Sthingen on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Khan tries to clinch up.

Sthingen keeps the fight on the outside.
Imran Khan seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Whack! Khan lands a heavy head kick that drops Sthingen. The ref tackles Khan to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Sthingen was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Imran Khan!
