Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Olve Eikemo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joey Moon! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Moon throws a jab when Eikemo was well out of range. Eikemo tries to close the distance and clinch but Moon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Eikemo tries to clinch but Moon is having none of it. Moon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Moon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Eikemo takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Eikemo tries to bench press Moon off him but Moon keeps the position. Eikemo is working hard here to advance position. Moon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Moon controlling from side mount.

Eikemo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. A head kick misses from Eikemo. Moon lands a nice hook to Eikemo's body. Eikemo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Eikemo is looking to clinch but Moon is avoiding it.
Moon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Moon swats away the attempt to clinch by Eikemo. Eikemo fails with an attempt to clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Moon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Moon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Eikemo, who protects the arm well. Eikemo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Moon's best efforts. Moon wants to take a breather but Eikemo manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Moon. Eikemo keeping moving, preventing Moon from controlling successfully.
